Love Honduras Mission Report to the Dioceses of West Texas 2020

Due to Covid-19, Love Honduras did not conduct their anticipated/annual trip to Siguatepeque, Honduras.  Instead, we have been working with our local contact and also a local church to provide support through the year.

The following actions were completed:

February 2020: Completed payments for the Model School Project for a total of $25,478.78.

May 2020: Provided $2569.30 to Santiago Apostol at Zaragosa to provide food for 42 families (240 people).

August 2020: Provided $1450.00 to Fernando H to attend St. John’s Episcopal School in Siguetepeque for the 2020-2021 school year.  This includes funds for uniforms, tuition and miscellaneous fees.

November 2020: Provided $2680.00 for 4000 pounds of rice and beans to 16 rural communities, 2000 pounds to St. John Episcopal Church San Juan, and 750 pounds to help with Hurricane Iota relief needs.

December 2020:  Provided an additional $2000 for food support and are awaiting details of the distribution.

Our plans for 2021 are to continue to provide as much food support as possible and maintain contact with our Honduran Partners.  There is a small chance that a small Love Honduras Team will visit in May 2021, but we plan to return as usual in May 2022.

Respectfully submitted,

Riva H., DVM
